| They purposely left it out in the open somewhere that they knew it would be discovered if the cops were looking for them....in order to see if the cops in fact were looking for them. They likely were planning to use it as a getaway vehicle for something and did not want it to get them caught in the missle of whatever it was they were planning to do.
